David Thorpe is originally from the Detroit Michigan area, but since 1988 he has been a resident of Florida.
Mr. Thorpe received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan, graduating in 1988 with Cum Laude honors. From there, Mr. Thorpe attended Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida, and graduated in 1996. During law school, Mr. Thorpe concentrated his course work in litigation.

Mr. Thorpe has been practicing in the Tampa Bay area for more than 20 years. He is a member of the Florida Bar and is licensed and authorized to practice in all Florida state courts, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the United States Supreme Court. At various times, he has been an active member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, Clearwater Bar Association, the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association, and the North Tampa Bar Association. Mr. Thorpe has handled cases in many counties in the State of Florida.
From 2001 through 2005 Mr. Thorpe was the lead trial/appellate attorney for one of the largest mortgage foreclosure firms in Florida representing lenders in mortgage foreclosure cases. In that capacity, Mr. Thorpe tried many foreclosure cases and handled numerous appeals.
In 2005 Mr. Thorpe founded the Thorpe Law Firm, P.A. and now uses his experience in mortgage foreclosure cases to help homeowners. Mr. Thorpe has handled hundreds of mortgage foreclosure cases representing homeowners, and has handled hundreds of bankruptcy cases representing debtors, only.
Mr. Thorpe’s civic activities include former member of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Hispanic Advisory Counsel and a member of the Gasparilla Distance Classic Organizing Committee.
Mr. Thorpe is an advanced scuba diver, enjoys restoring and driving classic cars, and playing guitars.
